I'm a self-taught fine artist based in Howard County, MD, who specializes in portraits and has experience working with pen, pencil, charcoal, watercolor, and acrylic. My art revolves around themes of duality and change.

Life is not a straight line but a constant balancing act, an endless dialogue between opposing forces. Day only holds meaning because it gives way to night. Growth is felt most deeply in the shadow of struggle. Every wave crashes because it must return to the sea, and in that retreat it gives birth to another.

Nature teaches us that duality is not conflict, but relationship. Light leans on darkness to reveal its glow, stillness shapes the movement it surrounds, and death nourishes the soil where new life begins. These contrasts are not mistakes in the design, but the very fabric of it.

To live fully is to accept this push and pull—not as chaos, but as rhythm. To evolve is not to “arrive” somewhere final, but to keep learning, shifting, and becoming. The journey is not a path toward a fixed destination; it is the destination itself, unfolding moment by moment.

In my art, as in life, the meaning is born from tension: two forces leaning into each other, neither surrendering, both defining. Without one, the other loses meaning. To appreciate anything, we must hold its opposite in our hands.
